How long do I need to wear my retainers for?
You will need to wear your retainers for 22 hours at the beginning (post-treatment). Subsequently you may reduce the frequency to just night-wear.
What cases can’t SDS accept?
Generally, SDS can accept 90% of the cases we receive. If there is a need for extraction of teeth or IPR (Inter-Proximal Reduction) over 4.4mm per quadrant, we may reject it.
What happens if I loose my aligners?
You should wear the previous aligner tray first, then consult your doctor. You may also drop us a message if you are unable to meet your doctor. We will replace the aligners and deliver it to you, no fuss!

What happens if I forgot to wear my aligners?
Don’t worry, nothing will happen to your teeth. However there is a possibility that your teeth may move back to the original position and you may need to extend your treatment duration. When this happens, it maybe painful to start on the tray again.
My aligners are not fitting into my arch. What do I do?
Wear your previous tray first and consult your doctor or drop as a email, we will guide you from there.
Can my teeth relapse after treatment? What can I do if it relapses.
Yes there cases where the teeth relapses to its original position if retainers are not worn diligently accordingly to your doctor’s instruction. There may also be relapse cases if your retainers are over the expiry date. Generally plastic retainers can last 6 months to 1 year. However, this wear & tear can increase during the first 3 months after the treatment, when they are worn more frequently over 22hrs a day.
Can SDS continue with previous fixed braces or other clear aligner treatments?
Yes we can, we have successfully aligned many of these cases that were previously on fixed braces or other clear aligner systems with attachments, that are unsuccessful.
I’m in the middle of my treatment but I will be stationed overseas for the next few months. How can I continue with my treatment?
Contact us, we will work closely with your doctor and provide you enough IPR (Inter-Proximal Reduction) instructions and aligner trays for you to bring on your trip without hassle. It is important to closely monitor the case to avoid relapse cases from happening.
